The Woodthorpe Development Trust Community Hub opened its doors today for the first time at an official event where the ribbon was cut by the Lord Mayor of Sheffield Councillor John Campbell. The "shop" on Richmond Road in Sheffield will give the Trust a presence in the heart of the community. Larry Angel M.B.E Chair of the Trust said " We've wanted to open up a venue like this for years so that we can be directly accessed by people that need our help or advice in our community, now we have and we're going to be open for business"! The "hub" will host a variety of services including a special needs "drop in" centre for older teenagers and young adults, project based work,community learning and advice. Other organisations and groups working in Woodthorpe and the Ward area will also be able to use the space to hold surgeries or advice sessions too.
