People from all across the Richmond Ward came to take part in the annual Christmas Wreath making morning at Richmond Pavilion. Despite it being very cold around 30 local people gathered together to create amazing decorations for their front doors using natural and man made materials.
The event organised by the Friends of Richmond Park and Park Rangers gets young and older people together so that they can get creative. Barbara Morris who organised the event said “last year it was absolutely freezing, so cold in fact that the loos froze up, however about 20 people braved the elements and turned up. This year it’s still brisk but look at the turnout, mind you local volunteer Joanne Stocks is keeping us all warm and cheerful serving hot drinks and mince pies to keep our spirits up.”
One youngster Aleksandra (11) said “ it was good to see everybody having so much fun and helping each other out. It’s ten times better than sitting around watching TV on a Sunday morning and lots more fun!”.
