Woodthorpe Community Primary School

Woodthorpe School sits in the heart of the Woodthorpe neighbourhood in South East Sheffield.In Spring 2005 we moved into a purpose- built school on the existing site. The planning and use of this building in terms of its ability to match the vision and aspirations of the school community is a major focus for us.

Raising attainment in the core subjects and achievement across the curriculum is the central priority for the school within the context of the outcomes as identified in Every Child Matters.

We have a commitment to improving the support to our parents and their involvement in their children's learning and in the life of the school.

We see developments in the Arts and in Sports as key elements in the enrichment of the school experience for all our pupils.

We are committed to meeting the extended school offer for the children and for the local community and welcome staff contribution towards this aim.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
