Woodthorpe Development Trust Board of Directors

Woodthorpe Development Trust Management Committee comprises of a number of volunteers, some of which are local residents of good standing and other members that work within the Woodthorpe area.  All of these members work hard to ensure there is good communication between the various agencies that work with us and the community, who are all working towards creating a greater community spirit within Woodthorpe.


Anne Angel

Anne has also been involved with the Trust from the outset working as a volunteer Secretary in its early days. Anne has a great desire to see positive changes in the area to improve the life and environment in Woodthorpe. Anne is involved on a regular basis with the legal and administrative activities of the Trust. Anne is also a Governor at Woodthorpe Community Primary School.


Chris Thew


Chris has been involved as a board member at the Trust since he joined the Woodthorpe community as Head Teacher at Woodthorpe Community Primary School in 2003. Chris takes an active role in the community and works in close partnership with the Trust as both Head Teacher and member of the Management Committee encouraging involvement in community activities.


Larry Angel M.B.E – Chair


I have been Chair of the Trust since it’s inception in 1996 and was instrumental in moving the organisation from a local focus group to its current form as a Development Trust. I have lived in the local area for the past 40 years and am passionate to see the area regenerate and the community thrive. I oversee much of the everyday activities of the Trust and attend a large number of meetings on behalf of the Trust.



Lynne Edwards


Lynne joined the board recently and has worked in partnership with the Trust over a number of years as a Street Ranger and then a Neighbourhood Warden. Lynne now supervisors the YES Team Neighbourhood Warden scheme across Woodthorpe and surrounding areas. She has a belief that the estate is improving year on year and wants to be part of the mechanism that makes positive changes.


Paul Bradshaw

Paul joined the board last year and has worked in Woodthorpe for a number of years as a Manager for the Estates Team (YES). Paul is involved on a daily basis with the management of local services across the Woodthorpe and Manor estates. He is passionate about improving things in Woodthorpe and works closely with the Trust to improve the environment.

Maisie Winn - Treasurer

Maisie has lived in Woodthorpe for many years and has been involved with the Trust since its concept both as a volunteer Management Committee member and a volunteer in the original After School Club. Maisie is very active in the every day business of the Trust. Maisie spent most of her working life as a book keeper and has looked after the financial aspects of the Trust for many years.

Georgine Radley

Georgine has been a board member for 3 years and has lived in the area for many years. She is passionate about the area and the community. Georgine is a very active board member and is a keen member of the local church.


Margaret Banks

Margaret has been a board member for just over a year. Margaret has been living in the area for many years and is passionate about “making a difference” to the lives of people in the Woodthorpe community. Margaret is involved with a number of local groups and is a Governor at Woodthorpe Community Primary School.

Phil Bullivant

Phil has been a board member for 4 years and lives locally. Phil was a Street Ranger in the Manor and Woodthorpe area for a number of years before joining South Yorkshire Police as a Crime Reduction Officer.
